Recognizing the challenges faced by many, he expressed solidarity with workers enduring harsh conditions, particularly those in sectors where the N70,000 minimum wage has yet to be implemented—a situation affecting about 20 states as of April 2025 .
Highlighting the indispensable role of workers in both public and private sectors, Abayomi Mighty lauded them as the engine room of Nigeria’s growth. He emphasized that their daily contributions are pivotal to the nation’s progress, underscoring the need for their welfare to be a top priority.
Citing economic data, Abayomi Mighty noted that the informal economy constitutes approximately 57.4% of Nigeria’s GDP, amounting to about $1.44 trillion at purchasing power parity levels . He stressed that the dedication of Nigerian workers significantly bolsters the country’s economic indicators, including GDP growth and sectoral development.
Looking ahead to his 2027 presidential bid, Abayomi Mighty pledged to prioritize improved working conditions and labor rights. He committed to implementing policies that ensure fair wages, safe workplaces, and social protections, aiming to enhance productivity and foster inclusive economic growth.
