U.S FOREIGN AID WITHDRAWAL: A WAKE-UP CALL TO AFRICA AND AFRICAN LEADERS

Abayomi Mighty, a prominent Pan-African leader, has described the recent U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the suspension of foreign aid as a wake-up call to Africa and African leaders. He emphasized that these actions indicate the urgent need for African nations to become self-reliant, particularly in funding their healthcare systems.

Abayomi Mighty criticized African governments reliance on external assistance, urging them to prioritize internal resource mobilization to address their developmental challenges.

He noted that the U.S. decision to withdraw from the WHO and suspend foreign aid would have grave implications for African countries especially countries that rely heavily on their support. Abayomi Mighty added that this singular move by the U.S. would expose the vulnerability of African health systems that are overly dependent on foreign aid.

He therefore calls on African leaders to eliminate wasteful expenditures by public officials, such as purchasing luxury vehicles, constructing opulent residences, funding online propaganda, hosting lavish events, and traveling abroad for vacations and medical treatments. He argued that these excessive expenditures contribute to public discontent and economic hardship, diverting resources that could be invested in national development.

As a steadfast advocate for African self-sufficiency, Abayomi Mighty has called on all African leaders to consider this as a wake-up call. He added that the progress of Africa as a continent hinges on prudent management of its resources and the commitment of its leaders to serve the populace. He reiterated that reliance on foreign aid is unsustainable and that African nations must take proactive steps to build resilient systems capable of withstanding external shocks.
