Abayomi Mighty, a 2027 presidential aspirant, Pan-Africanist, author, and activist, has fiercely condemned Senate President, Godswill Akpabio’s chant, “Things are getting better, for Asiwaju is on the throne,” as a “grandiose exhibition of insanity and insensitivity.”

Speaking out against what he called a blasphemous mockery of Nigeria’s suffering, Abayomi Mighty argued that substituting divine reverence with praise for President Bola Tinubu reveals the oligarchic rot plaguing the nation. “This is a grand farce, an insult to every Nigerian struggling to survive,” he declared, emphasizing that the chant reflects a leadership disconnected from the people’s pain.
Abayomi Mighty asserted that since Tinubu’s inauguration in May 2023, Nigeria has seen no progress, only deepening despair.
“What has gotten better?” Abayomi asked rhetorically, pointing to the grim realities under Tinubu’s administration. He highlighted inflation soaring to 32.7% by September 2024, pushing 46% of Nigerians below the poverty line, as reported by economic analysts. “Fuel at ₦900 – ₦100 per liter, erratic electricity, and unemployment choking our youth—where is the improvement?” he asked.
Abayomi Mighty also cited persistent insecurity, with banditry and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta costing Nigeria dearly—97% of one oil field’s output was lost to theft in 2021, a crisis still unresolved. He decried the collapse of healthcare and education, with underfunded hospitals and unaffordable school fees, calling Akpabio’s claim a “cruel lie” that insults Nigerians’ daily struggles.
Abayomi Mighty further lambasted Akpabio’s chant for replacing “the Lord” with “Asiwaju Tinubu,” describing it as a chilling depiction of Nigeria’s fascist oligarchy. “This is not governance; it’s worship of power,” he said, accusing the administration of fascism, abuse of power, and flagrant disobedience to the rule of law. He pointed to reports of human rights violations under Tinubu, as noted by Amnesty International, and the National Assembly’s budget padding scandals, including Akpabio’s alleged diversion of over ₦100 billion as governor and ₦40 billion as minister.
In a fiery call to action, Abayomi Mighty urged Nigerians to reject this “blasphemous insult” and prepare to “send these looters packing” in 2027. Presenting himself as a credible alternative for the presidency, he vowed to restore accountability and hope to a nation battered by corruption. “They’ve plundered enough,” he declared.
Abayomi Mighty emphasized that the 2027 election is a chance to dismantle this corrupt system and reclaim power for the people. “This is our wake-up call,” he asserted, urging citizens to rise against an administration that celebrates rhetoric over results while Nigeria bleeds.
