In a fiery rebuttal to the recent statement issued by factional Afenifere, Abayomi Mighty, a frontline 2027 presidential aspirant has described the group’s endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid as “insensitive, selfish, and a betrayal of the Nigerian people.” Speaking with visible outrage, Abayomi Mighty condemned the Yoruba socio-political group’s justification of Tinubu’s administration, insisting that it reeks of ethnic complicity and crass disregard for the suffering masses.

Reacting to the assertion that Tinubu’s government is “not a Yoruba government,” Abayomi Mighty dismissed the statement as an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. “This faction of Afenifere has clearly lost touch with reality. Nigerians are not fools. The ethnic coloration and lopsided appointments of this administration cannot be masked with weak semantics and political gymnastics,” he fumed.
He further described as laughable the group’s comparison of Tinubu’s administration with that of former President Muhammadu Buhari. “To justify Tinubu’s failures by referencing Buhari’s disastrous eight years is akin to comparing two national tragedies. This shows how dangerously hollow and desperate their defence has become,” Abayomi Mighty retorted.
Abayomi Mighty warned that such endorsement from socio-cultural elites is a stark reminder of how compromised Nigeria’s political landscape has become. “These are the same elements who have traded away the future of the youth for crumbs at the corridors of power. Their endorsement is not only meaningless but also a stamp of failure,” he asserted.
Taking a swipe at NADECO, Abayomi Mighty labelled the once-revered pro-democracy group as “a failed project whose relevance expired the moment it began to pander to the establishment it once fought.” He accused the group of gross hypocrisy, stating that its members, who once championed democracy, are now defending tyranny and economic strangulation.

“NADECO has become a safe haven for yesterday’s men — political contractors without honour. Their existence only reminds us that many structures established in the past were premodially selfish and never truly for the people. They’ve failed Nigeria and should be ashamed of the monster they helped install,” he declared.
He predicted a total collapse of what he described as “these anti-people formations” come 2027. “Their calculations will crumble. The oppressed Nigerians — the largest organized group in the country — will reclaim this nation, and these relics will be thrown into political irrelevance,” Abayomi Mighty said confidently.
He reiterated that he is leading a revolutionary political transformation that will end the dominance of recycled elites. “The people will rise, and these expired leaders and their paid cheerleaders will face political retirement. This country is tired of old cargos masquerading as visionaries,” he added.
Abayomi Mighty called on Nigerians to disregard the statements from groups like Afenifere, NADECO, and others such as Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and Ohanaeze Ndigbo factions that have supported the current regime. “These groups do not represent the voice of the people. They constitute barely 0.01% of the population and are often nothing more than political echo chambers for transactional endorsements,” he said.
He lamented that most civil and social groups have deviated from their founding principles and are now instruments of oppression. “Nigerians must open their eyes. These people speak for their pockets, not for the suffering masses. They endorse anomalies because their survival depends on political patronage,” Abayomi Mighty lamented.
Describing the current administration as an embodiment of failure, he accused Tinubu’s government of weaponizing poverty, ethnic division, and economic hardship. “What has this administration delivered other than pain, confusion, and betrayal?” he asked rhetorically.
Abayomi urged the youth and other Nigerians not to allow themselves to be deceived again. “Let no one be fooled by the noise of political hirelings. We must understand that salvation will not come from the same set of people who plunged us into this mess,” he warned.
He reminded Nigerians that real power lies with them and not with parochial regional spokespersons. “The 2027 election is our moment of reckoning. It is the time to dismantle every false narrative and reject those who think they can sell our future for temporary favours,” Abayomi Mighty asserted.
Declaring himself a viable alternative, Abayomi Mighty promised a complete rebirth of Nigeria’s governance structure. “We are coming with clarity, vision, and courage to confront and defeat the old order. I am presenting myself not just as a candidate, but as the voice of the oppressed and the embodiment of a new Nigeria,” he stated.
